  4. Approve the deposit!⁣

The amount deposited will appear on the screen. You can then approve the deposit or add more banknotes. After approval, the ATM will print a receipt and the deposit will appear in your bank account immediately.

What to watch out for when making a deposit?

Coins and foreign banknotes are not accepted by the machines.

Other important information

Make sure that the banknotes are undamaged. The ATM will return crumpled, glued or incomplete banknotes.

During the deposit, the ATM will examine the banknotes and withdraw any that are suspected of being counterfeit, which will be indicated on the receipt issued. After the withdrawn banknote(s) have been examined, the value of the banknote(s) deemed to be genuine will be credited to the account associated with the debit or credit card used for the deposit.

After inserting the banknotes you wish to deposit, do not touch the ATM slot, as this may cause the ATM to malfunction and the banknotes to be retained. If this does happen, cancel the deposit and start the process again.

What to watch out for when making a withdrawal?

  • You can only withdraw Hungarian banknotes with debit and credit cards from MBH Bank ATMs bearing the VISA and Mastercard logos.
  • At the end of the transaction, count the banknotes dispensed and make sure you have removed your bank card from the ATM card reader slot.
  • The amount that can be dispensed at one time (and the maximum number of banknotes that can be withdrawn at one time) depends on the settings and current capacity of the ATM (e.g., denomination availability, current ATM stock).
  • If you do not remove your bank card within 30 seconds of the end of the transaction (the machine will warn you), it may be retained and you will only get it back later.

Contactless (NFC) use

  1. To use this function, you need a bank card issued by MBH Bank, or a digitally registered MBH bank card for use with a mobile device, as well as NFC function support and activation.
  2. Touch your bank card, mobile device or smartwatch to the symbol displayed on the ATM.
  3. Touch your bank card, mobile device or smartwatch to the symbol displayed on the ATM.
  4. Enter the PIN code for your card and continue with the desired transaction.

Security tips

  • Keep your PIN code confidential! Never store the code with your bank card, and do not write it down in your mobile device or notebook. We will never ask you for your PIN code in any form or through any channel.
  • Do not let anyone see what PIN code you enter or how much money you withdraw.
  • If your card is damaged during the transaction or the ATM does not return it, call +36 1 373 3399 (from abroad) or 06 80 350 350 (in Hungary), and if our colleagues recommend it, block your bank card immediately. If you are using a bank branch ATM, ask our colleagues at the bank branch for help during opening hours.
  • Put your bank card away immediately after the transaction and, if possible, do not count your cash at the ATM, but later, in a safe place.
  • If you use the ATM in contactless mode, i.e. using NFC, ALWAYS make sure that you have completed your transaction and ALWAYS exit the ATM menu.

Blocking your bank card (irrevocable blocking)

What should you do if your bank card is damaged, lost, or stolen? Please report the loss or theft of your bank card immediately to Telebank customer service (06 80 350 350; from abroad: (+36) 1 373 3399) or at a bank branch.

Information required for reporting:

  • Bank card number
  • The expiry date of the bank card
  • The bank account number linked to the card

If the cardholder does not know this information, our customer service representatives at Telebank will take steps to block the bank card using the cardholder's other identification data.

Further useful information regarding card blocking:

  • We recommend saving the Telebank telephone numbers (06 80 350 350; from abroad: (+36) 1 373 3399) in your phone so that you can reach our bank immediately if necessary.
  • Make a note of your bank card's identification details (card number, expiry date) and keep them separate from your bank card. This will speed up the process of blocking your bank card.
  • Anyone can take action on your behalf to block your bank card (e.g. if your card is found).
  • Upon request, we will issue a new bank card to replace a stolen/lost bank card. Once a lost or stolen bank card has been blocked, it cannot be reactivated or used even if it is found.

Secure online banking

Be careful!

Fraudsters often pretend to be bank officers or regulatory officials and try to convince you that the money in your account is at risk. To prevent losses, they usually ask you to install an application that provides remote access and/or ask you to provide your online banking login details and confirmation password. The aim of fraudsters is to scare you and cause alarm, so they use communication designed to achieve this.  Neither the Bank nor the authorities will ever ask you to install any program on your IT device, nor will they ever ask you to provide confidential information, netbank login details, or to transfer your money to a "security account" or withdraw your money in cash and hand it over to them. If the Bank detects suspicious activity on your account/card, it will take the necessary steps without asking you or involving you. If you find a call or transaction suspicious, hang up immediately and call the Bank without delay at 06 80 350 350 from within Hungary or +36 1 373 3399 from abroad. Protecting your data is key to preventing fraud. If you suspect that you have been the victim of fraud, please call the Bank immediately at the above numbers.

1Contactless (NFC) use is only available for MBH Bank customers.

2The daily maximum amount that can be deposited applied per per bank card.
