Qvik Payment
Payment situations that previously required cash, bank cards, or yellow cheques can now be resolved with just a few taps using qvik payment options.
Instant transfers initiated using the new qvik-QR, qvik-link, and qvik-NFC provide a solution for various payment situations from 1 September 2024.

For online and physical purchases, cheque payments can be initiated using the QR code, NFC signal or deeplink received from the beneficiary (merchant, service provider) to pay the consideration. 2024. szeptember 1-től az MBH mobil applikációval is elérhető az azonnali átutalásra épülő qvik fizetési lehetőség.
Qvik payment is only available at merchants and service providers who have joined the service and display the qvik payment logo.
Free of charge
The use of qvik is legally free of charge for all retail customers.
Secure
GIRO Zrt. operates the payment ecosystem, which includes the certificate management required for security code verification, as well as the domain registration of applications and the generation and verification of messages in a closed system.
Quick
The purchase amount can be settled immediately with an instant transfer.
Qvik solutions
The qvik brand offers four types of payment solutions, all of which make payments via instant transfer orders.
Among the qvik payment solutions based on instant transfer orders, QR code, NFC, and Deeplink-based payments are included in the Unified Data Entry Solutions (Hungarian abbreviation: EAM).

QR code-based payment
In this case, a paper-based or digital QR code is used that the payer must scan. This can be done with the QR code reader built into the bank's mobile payment app, or by scanning the QR code with the factory camera of a smartphone or tablet. After scanning the QR code, the Bank App's transfer interface opens with all the necessary transaction data. If it is found acceptable, the transfer will be completed within a few seconds after approval. The payer will receive a confirmation message that the transfer has been completed and can verify the success of the purchase in their account history.

NFC-based payment
As the payer, you touch your mobile phone or tablet to a merchant device capable of transmitting NFC signals after activating NFC in advance. The Bank App will then automatically display a transfer interface with all the necessary transaction details. If it is found acceptable, the transfer will be completed within a few seconds after approval. The payer will receive a confirmation message about the completion of the transfer and can verify its success in their account history.

Deeplink-based payment
The merchant's website or the biller's mobile banking app automatically invites the buyer's mobile banking app via a payment link (deeplink). The customer will see the Bank App transfer interface, which contains all the payment details. If it is found acceptable, the transfer will be completed within a few seconds after approval. The payer will receive a confirmation message about the completion of the transfer and can verify its success in their account history.

Request to pay
A request to pay is a type of message sent by the Beneficiary to the payer for the purpose of initiating a transfer order for their own account. (Example: the utility company sends a payment request based on your monthly bill, which you can accept, and the bill is settled by a transfer generated from the request). You can read more about payment requests HERE.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long has the service been available?
It has been available to all domestic mobile banking users since 1 September 2024.
How can I know if qvik payment is available at a merchant?
Qvik payment is only available at merchants and service providers who have joined the service and display the qvik logo to indicate that this payment option is available. Merchants are free to decide whether to introduce qvik payment. To do so, they must have a suitable POS terminal or, in the case of a web shop, they must provide a deep link during the payment process, which can be clicked to initiate instant payment
How does it work?
The merchant sends a payment request to the payer (customer) using a unique code, link, NFC, or payment request, which contains the payment details. The customer approves the payment details using their mobile device, and the merchant then receives the amount. Qvik payments are executed according to the rules for instant transfers.
How can I access qvik payments?
Instant transfers initiated using qvik-QR, qvik-NFC or qvik-link can be made on a mobile device if an active mobile banking app is available on the smart device.
For iOS, the MBH apps that support qvik payment options can be downloaded from the App Store, and for Android, from Google Play (not available on other operating systems) as follows:
| E-Channel name | Affected customer base | Qvik EAM payment availability |
| MBH Bank App | Retail | Yes |
| MBH Bank App (previously Takarék) | Retail and corporate | Yes |
| MBH Vállalati App | Corporate | Yes |
| MBH Bank App (previously MKB) | Retail and corporate | No |
EAMs that have already been scanned on a smart device but have not been paid for, or that require multiple signatures, are
also available on thin and thick client banking solutions (Netbank/Terminal), where scanned EAMs can be approved before their
expiry date.
In-app and out-of-app qvik EAM scanning
Out-of-app scanning OUT APP: The qvik-EAM payment is initiated by scanning the QR code directly with the phone's factory camera, clicking on the Deeplink, or receiving an NFC signal. Scanning the qvik-EAM automatically opens the mobile payment app installed on the phone, which handles the scanned data. Therefore, the initiation of EAM scanning takes place before the Bank App is launched.
IN-APP scanning: Within the mobile application, the user has the option to start scanning by selecting one of the QR/NFC/Deeplink-based scanning methods. This means that the EAM scan is initiated after launching the Bank App from the appropriate menu item.
Once the scanning process is complete, both processes initiated from either direction go through the same validation and transaction steps; there is no difference between the processes.
What should I pay attention to before approving the transfer?
It is important to always check the transfer details before approving the payment, especially the accuracy of the amount and the beneficiary's details.
Can I change the details before paying?
With QR code, NFC, and deeplink scanning, the mobile banking interface automatically fills in the transfer details. The amount and message can only be changed before signing if the beneficiary (the recipient of the payment) has authorized this.
If you find the transaction details to be incorrect but can no longer change them, we recommend that you reject the order and contact the merchant or service provider.
What common reasons can lead to the failure of qvik payments?
- The MBH application, which enables qvik scanning, is not installed
- You do not have an account suitable for qvik payments
- There are insufficient funds in the account selected for payment
- The scanned QR code or deep link is incorrect
- The validity period specified for payment has expired
- The security code entered is incorrect.
- A duplicate payment attempt has been made (an instant transfer has already been completed with the QR code at the payer's bank).
- Suspected fraud has occurred.
- The instant transfer order initiated has failed.
In the above cases, the mobile bank will send an error message.
Does every QR code that can be scanned initiate a qvik payment?
Not necessarily. There are QR codes, such as those on cheques, which initiate card-based payments when scanned.
Example: Magyar Posta Zrt. iCsekk service details: Posta.hu/icsekk In contrast, the qvik QR code initiates an instant transfer order to complete the payment.
The qvik logo helps you recognize whether a given QR code initiates a transfer transaction in accordance with the MNB standard.
In Hungary, for transactions specified in Section 35(1) of the MNB's 35/2017 Payment Services Regulation, only the qvik QR code-based transfer method may be used; other QR code solutions are not permitted.
Secure online banking

Be careful!
Fraudsters often pretend to be bank officers or regulatory officials and try to convince you that the money in your account is at risk. To prevent losses, they usually ask you to install an application that provides remote access and/or ask you to provide your online banking login details and confirmation password. The aim of fraudsters is to scare you and cause alarm, so they use communication designed to achieve this. Neither the Bank nor the authorities will ever ask you to install any program on your IT device, nor will they ever ask you to provide confidential information, netbank login details, or to transfer your money to a "security account" or withdraw your money in cash and hand it over to them. If the Bank detects suspicious activity on your account/card, it will take the necessary steps without asking you or involving you. If you find a call or transaction suspicious, hang up immediately and call the Bank without delay at 06 80 350 350 from within Hungary or +36 1 373 3399 from abroad. Protecting your data is key to preventing fraud. If you suspect that you have been the victim of fraud, please call the Bank immediately at the above numbers.
