MBH Bank and Mastercard launch their charity partnership again this year

Also in 2024, MBH Bank and Mastercard have launched a charity campaign, whereby the credit institution invites all those who pay with MBH Mastercard bank cards during the festive period to make a donation. The aim of the Christmas campaign is to raise people's awareness of the importance of supporting those in need and to deepen the philanthropic approach. The charity campaign runs during this year's festive period, from 2 to 31 December, and all customers have to do is use their Mastercard bank card.

MBH Bank and Mastercard have also started a joint donation programme this festive season to support the work of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid. The essence of the campaign running from 2 to 31 December, during the Advent period, is that for every purchase made with a bank card, the amount donated by MBH Bank and Mastercard to the charity will increase.

Similarly to last year's initiative, this year MBH Bank customers only need to use their Mastercard bank card for payments. However, it is important to emphasise that the donations are provided jointly by MBH Bank and Mastercard, so there is no extra cost to the customer. In addition, customers can make additional individual donations to help those in need via the donation interface on the Hungarian Interchurch Aid website.

This year, the fundraising campaign is accompanied by spectacular creative campaign elements

This year, the bank has added a number of new elements to its charity campaign. In the TV2 Mokka studio, the Hungarian Interchurch Aid and MBH Bank will set up a special Christmas tree on which you can follow the daily increase in the amount donated by the two organisations for each MBH Mastercard payment. In addition, the MBH Bank Christmas tree will be displayed in several key locations in the city - Vörösmarty tér, Móricz Zsigmond körtér and Nyugati tér - and the spectacular installation will further promote the initiative among the public. During the nationwide campaign, the Bank's festive message will also appear in TV and cinema spots, on posters, building networks, online platforms, digital public spaces and social media.

“With our slogan for this year's Advent campaign - 'Christmas shines brighter the more we think of everyone' - we want to raise awareness of the need to help the disadvantaged, and we would like to deepen the culture of giving in all sectors of society, which is why we have sought to raise awareness of our initiative. We work closely with the Hungarian Interchurch Aid throughout the year, but the Christmas period is the time when we can involve our clients in the joint work, and we are confident that this year we can make the festive season brighter for many people"⁣ said István Kutas, Managing Director for Communications at MBH Bank.

"Our joint campaign with MBH Bank and the Hungarian Interchurch Aid reminds us that we can do a lot for others through the small decisions we make every day. With this initiative, we are showing that digital payment solutions not only provide a fast and convenient shopping experience, but also create new opportunities for social responsibility - even in the long term. We are pleased to see that Mastercard cardholders are actively joining this initiative year after year, and together we are making the true value of the holidays tangible,"⁣ said Réka Szalkai, Marketing Director for Hungary and Slovenia at Mastercard.

Cooperation is active at all times of the year

MBH Bank and the Hungarian Interchurch Aid signed a cooperation agreement in May 2023, under which the bank will support the aid organisation with HUF 100 million per year. The MBH Conscious Help Programme, launched last year in the spirit of collaboration, has helped more than 35,000 people.

As part of the cooperation, in addition to the programme, MBH Bank is supporting the work of the Hungarian Interchurch Aid with the involvement of its officers, who participate in the organisation's Advent fundraising campaign by distributing food, collecting donations and also taking part in a charity run to raise awareness.
